Shahid Sporting retained the title in the Stabadi Cup Cricket Tournament, defeating Paramount Sporting by 37 runs at Unit-I High School ground in Bhubaneswar today. The champions received the top prize of Rs 11,111, while the runners-up were given Rs 7,777.
Preetamjeet Das and Manoj Barik were adjudged as the man of the final and man of the tournament respectively. Kirti Ranjan Bhuiya and Prabhanjan Mallick (both Paramount) bagged the best bowler and best batsman awards respectively. Planning and Coordination Minister A U Singdeo gave away the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function.
Brief score: Sahid Sporting 150/8 in 20 overs (Preetamjeet Das 24, Manoranjan Biswal 22; Aswin Kumar, Prabhanjan Mallick and Kirti Ranjan 2 wkts each) beat Paramount Sporting 113/10 in 19.2 overs (Pritamjit Das and Manoj Barik 3 wkts each).
